人类和小鼠等脊椎动物的发育从受精卵开始,经历早期胚胎发育与分化,器官形成与胎儿生长,直至完整生命体出生。我们主要探索脊椎动物胚胎发育与分化过程中所涉及的众多基因的时空表达与调控。通过进化时空和多个模式物种的比较研究,以及功能基因组、转录组、蛋白质组、转基因动物、基因敲除及生物信息技术等多种现代生命科学手段,研究基因-发育-进化等生命本质, 尤其关注胚胎发生、细胞分化、干细胞命运、生殖与发育等生命活动及其分子演化和分子病理机制。
